You Want a Piece of This? Come Get Some

The Vicariate of Rome is selling 100,000 pieces of the pontifs pope costume, or at least that’s what they’re claiming is what they’re selling. Ok, not technically selling, but for a donation you’ll get a piece of the pope. Nevermind the fact that the vatican discourages veneration of relics and “Wars were fought over the hunt for relics in the Middle Ages,” said Bishop Velasio De Paolis, secretary of the Apostolic Signature, the Vatican’s top judicial body. Money raised will go to the make the pope a saint fund, so get a piece now, because once he goes saint, there’s no telling how much those pieces may be worth on Ebay.

  1. More evidence to prove that religion is just what they say it isn’t – Big Business.

  2. I’d like to see some oversight report in a year or so. I wonder how many millions will get one of those 100,000 pieces. You know how the relic thing scam works.

I think they should try and expand their market, like selling pieces of what he was wearing when he violated the church’s rule about sustaining life at all costs and refused the feeding tube or pieces of Teresa’s costume she was wearing when she wrote she lost her faith. There’s a whole non-catholic and of course atheist market out there yet to be tapped.

  3. Thousands of priests “give” themselves to young boys all over the country for free. But they want money for a piece of cloth from some dude’s dress-up costume?

I say only rape those little boys who pay big cash for it and give the “relics” away.
